How Can Flu, Chills, Cough And Sore Throat Be Treated During Pregnancy?

I am 21 weeks pregnant with 3rd child. woke up yesterday feeling like I had a slight case of the flu. chills, slight cough with sore throat. not bad but a shallow annoying cough all day and felt fatigued. last night when I went to bed coughing more and felt deeper (chest hurt a little). this am still had cough and a little tightness and sore throat and fatigue. Could this be bronchitis? also am I contagious to my children?

Hello,
I appreciate your concern for your baby. If i were your treating physician, i would ask few blood tests like CBC, Urine Routine and Micro, etc.
I guess this is because of a simple flu (influenza virus infection) and it will go away automatically after 4-5 days. Till then you can take enough precautions to control the spreading of infection.
My advise to you is to do regular (3-4 times) salt water gargles, take homemade healthy food, milk with turmeric and most importantly take enough rest (avoid going out). Don't worry, it will pass away and it will not affect your baby.
You can come back to me anytime after having those blood tests, so i can guide you further, but avoid taking any kind of medications as long as possible.
