Sir/ Madam, I had severe cough and cold last week. Due to official purpose I had to travel to Delhi and I stayed there for 3 days. I flew back to Mumbai from Delhi by air on 9 Feb. In mid air while listening music through ear phones, the flight descents I felt uneasiness in both ears. Next day I consulted an ENT doctor and she advised Enzocort 6, Pan40, Livocetrizine and Otrivin nasal drop. She said that I have water and air in my right air and air in left ear. Avoid air travel and take steam. Please suggest this okay to you. Rgds, Saurabh Tewari
Common cold and nasal congestion can lead to blockage of Eustachian tube (connecting wind pipe between ear and nasopharynx) which usually maintains air balance around tympanic membrane (responsible for hearing).
Besides you had air travel along with nasal congestion and cold which further lead to air pressure imbalance around tympanic membrane.
The doctor has prescribed you proper treatment however as per my advice avoid taking Enzocort. Along with the above treatment do steam inhalation and hot water gargles. This will help to relieve congestion.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Hiren Hirpara
