How Can Food Poisoning Be Treated?

Left for vacation to florida Saturday February 3 went out to eat Tues night Feb6 .Wednesday Feb 7... morning 1st episode of diareah... Wednesday night some diareah no nausea or vomiting but had chills and fever and aches..Thursday Feb 8 felt better ate some dry toast in morning later in day went out ate hamburger and French fries Diet Pepsi about one hour after eating diareah returned...no nausea, vomiting . Friday diareah continued... drinking lots of fluids no solids....diareah continued into Saturday Feb 10 took some Imodium this morning 3-4 episodes ate saltines , and rice soup, stool is still watery . what is it and what should I do

The symptoms are highly suggestive of gastroenteritis. I would recommend meeting a physician so that a short course of antibiotics may be initiated as per local sensitivity. Ciprofloxacin or metronidazole are the common choices. Continue taking plenty of fluids. Watch the electrolytes. Initiate probiotcs as well.
