Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I got a corn chip last night and stuck in my pipe it s on the left side I can stick my finger down my throught and feel it threw the skin what do I need too do. It s not in my throught it s on the other side can t swallow good and been trying to wash it down all day Tku
Well, if you can swallow but is painful then probably the chip might have lacerated your food pipe while passing down causing pain and inflammation. But in case if the food is not passing down or if there is difficulty in breathing then it is an emergency and immediately consult an Emergency room.
In any case, you should consult an Emergency room or a Physician get examined and if needed an Endoscopic examination can be done. For now, if you are able to swallow then drink plenty of cool fluids and water and eat foods like a banana. Also, take anti-inflammatory painkillers to reduce pain. But get checked at the earliest.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Honey Arora,
Dentist
