I have been trying to remove my corns for 2 years now.. I use the acid drops and pads and i also used a pumice stone, but only the top layer of the corn is removed leaving smooth shit skin, it takes a long time for the skin to get it s its original color. So how long do i need to wait before adding more acid on my corn without damaging my healthy skin. Another problem is I have hammer toes... how long does it take for my toes to be corrected uses those. And how often should I wear them. I m so embarrassed that I never wear flip flops during the summer time and i would love to. Please help me
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Foot corns are similar to warts and it can be cured completely with various treatment options. Salicylic acid preparations are not that much effective because it won’t eliminate the disease from its base. The best possible option is cauterize the lesion from its base so that the recurrence chances are low. Newer techniques like laser treatment is also available. You can consult a dermatologist and he will explain the treatment options in detail.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
