Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I had uterine cancer 4 years ago that resulted in a complete hysterectomy. I have not been sexually active since then. I have a strong vaginal odor (fishy smell) that I can not seem to get rid of. What is causing this, and how do I get rid of it?
Hello there. I have read through your question and it seems you are suffering from bacterial vaginosis. It can be confirmed on swab culture. Cotrimazole vaginal pessaries inserted at night for 7 days will relieve your symptoms. If you don't see any improvement you may be required to take oral antibiotic course. I hope that answers your question. if you have any further questions please feel free to write.
