How Can Fungal Infection In The Ears Be Treated?

My 83 year old mother was diagnosed with a fungal infection in both her ears. I made the white vinegar and alcohol mixture and flushed her ears. However, she is getting a very sharp pain in her ear. What can I do to help her. The sharp pain comes and goes it is not consistent.
