How Can Gastritis And Abdominal Bloating Be Treated?
I m talking with a friend diagnosed with gastritis. He doesn t want to eat anything and says he has not eaten in a couple of days because it bothers him, makes him feel bloated. The doctor prescribed sucralsate generic carasate which he doesn t want to take it because he felt pain and got chills when he took one. His stool is black. A CAT scan did not show an ulcer.

General & Family Physician, Dr. Nishad BN's Response
Hi Thank you for asking HCM I have gone through your query. Fibrogastroduodenoscopy will be required to know the exact status. A consultation with gastroenterologist is well appreciated. Taking proton pump inhibitors like rabeprazole and motility enhancers like itopride will be helpful. Sucralfate syrup helps to get a protective covering on ulcers. This should be taken half an hour prior to food intake. Thanks.
