How Can Genital Herpes Transmission Be Prevented?

I just started dating a women. She is 56 years old. She told me she contracted genital herpes 6 years ago. She told me there no cure. She said for the most part she has it under control with medication. My question is how safe is it to have intercorse and oral stimulation with her? Can get infected by sleeping naked with her?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Genital herpes can be spread from person to person even with skin to skin direct contact not only during sexual contact. This also includes oral and anal sex, kissing, and touching the genitals or anus.

A condom is worthy but contact of skin to skin by direct contact is something you cannot control.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Suzana Zharri,
