Hello,

Glue ear or serous otitis media may be due to:

1. Adenoid hypertrophy.
2. Eustachian tube block.
3. Incomplete treatment with antibiotics for middle ear infection.
4. Viral infection. It is more common in the age of 4-8.

Treated with :

1. Antibiotics like amoxicillin with clavulinic acid twice a day for five days.

2. Decongestants like phenylephrine may useful.

3. Myrigotomy to release the pressure and fluid.

4. Aspiration of fluid.

5. Grommet insertion.

If symptoms not improved please consult with your ENT specialist he will examine the present condition and treated you accordingly.
