How Can Gonorrhea Be Contracted When Partner Is Not Diagnosed With It?

Hello me and my partner have been sexually active for a while, she went to the doctor and had an std test done and it turned out she had chlamydia and got treatment for it. So I followed suite about a week later and went to get tested and treated. It turns out I contracted gonorrhea, and I informed my partner so she went to get treated as well. She is my only sex partner and I don t understand how the gonorrhea showed up on my test but not hers. I know that I haven t been sleeping around and the doctor asked her if she slept with anyone else and she said no so if she was tested and it didn t show up then why did it show up when I was tested?

Hello
Let me explain in detail so that you will understand in better way .
Both of you are having sexual contact with each other and no one having other sexual partner.
First of all female went to the doctor and tested POSITIVE for Chlamydia .
She took full treatment for chlamydia .
One week later , you also went for examination and found gonorrhea POSITIVE .
There is a one week gap between for which you tested ( your partner took treatment during this period ).
You tested ( you visited clinic after one week of your partner) .

You tested POSITIVE for gonorrhea .
You informed your partner that you tested positive for gonorrhea .
She also visited clinic but she was not having gonorrhea ( NEGATIVE for gonorrhea , while you are POSITIVE ) .
Why this is so , this thing is in your mind when both of you are faithful for each other .
Right , you both are right .
She took treatment for CHLAMYDIA , yes, the "DUAL THERAPY FOR GONORRHEA & CHLAMYDIA IS THE STANDARD OF CARE IF CHLAMYDIA IS NOT RULED OUT.
So this is the reason that your partner was tested NEGATIVE for gonorrhea .
Hope this will be helpful for you.
Further , if any question I will reply.
Good luck.
