How Can Gout And Severe Arthritis Be Treated?

I am a 59 year old post menopausal woman. I have RA and have shown signs of gout. I also take 2 - 50mg tablets of Metoprolol for high blood pressure. My nurse practitioner prescribed Uloric 40mg to fight the gout. Once the medicine got in my system it seemed to work great. I later had x-rays which showed I have severe arthritis as well as carpal tunnel in both hands. I ran out of Uloric about a month ago and can not afford the refill. I am now having a flare up with inflammation and severe pain in both hands and one shoulder. I feel as if it is the arthritis and not gout this time. I have been taking Aleve for the pain. I can not get in to the clinic today, but my husband takes Meloxicam 15mg for his RA. My question is, can I safely take 1/2 of a 15 mg Meloxicam each day until I can see the nurse next Saturday?

Hello,

I would sincerely advise you to not take any medication without proper check up please.
We need uric acid levels also and we need to treat both according to your profile.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
