How Can Gout Be Treated?

My husband has CHF and seems to be having a gout attack. I plan to take him to the doctor on Monday. His physician does not want him taking any NSAIDS due to some mild poor kidney function. Would it be ok for me to give him some Naproxen just for the weekend to help with the gout?

Hi,

Naproxen is a nonsteroid anti-inflammatory medication.

So, I would suggest you not to use it due to kidney disease.

You can use cool compresses for local relief.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
