How Can Gout Be Treated?

I have a history of getting gout for about 12 years. Are frog legs something that can affect my Gout? My trigger foods are usually Seafood and mushrooms. But I have not tried frog legs and I m afraid to. I cannot find the information on the purine levels in frog legs. Basically I would like to know is there a possibility at frog legs will affect my Gout?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

I understand your concern.

Frog legs contain 16.4g Protein. Essentially, all meat contains purines, although we cannot find any specific amount.

You can try to eat frog legs, but careful with the amount and way of preparation. They might induce a gout flare up.

Hope this helps.
