How Can Gout On The Big Toe Be Treated?

Hi my name is Thelma Taylor, I have been struggling with gout in my right big toe joint for a 3 years now, I have not been prescribed anything for the severe pain due to my many ailments, I have been using home treatments. Today was a very severe attack to where you could actually see the ares swelling more and more, my daughter was in shock, I now have an ice pack on it to help with the swelling but the pain is intolerable, what do you recommend?
