How Can Gout On The Big Toe Be Treated?

3-4 weeks ago I had a bout of Gout in my big toe. It of course inflamed, got purplish red, very painful. I have gout medicine which I took till the pain went away as well as the redness. However, it formed a large lump that has never went away. It is not a bunion, it is kinda squishy when I touch it. It is on the side of my toe and is protruding. Ugly and awkward. Not sure if it should be lanced.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
I suggest you to get X-ray of the toe to assess the condition of bones.

Thanks and take care
