Hello,

Gynecomastia, as you probably know, is a condition where in there is an excessive breast tissue in males. This is caused mostly due to a hormonal imbalance between testosterone (male hormone) and oestrogen (female hormone).

The other causes are certain drugs, alcohol, marijuana, etcetera. In the absence of an underlying factor, this condition usually regresses on its own after an average of 2 to 3 years.

You need to consult a specialist if you have developed signs of pain or swelling in the area. Medicines can treat this condition in some cases, before resorting to surgery. And no, sexual nipple stimulation doesn't cause gynecomastia.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Sreeja
