How Can Hair Loss With Dry Skin Caused By Hashimoto S Be Treated?

I have Hashimoto s disease with very high antibody levels My labs are within normal limits but I have significant hair loss, 40 lbs extra weight, dry skin and tingling in my scalp. I m so frustrated and upset. I m now at the point where I have about 1/4 of the hair I used to have and may need to wear a wig. I don t know what to do

Hashimoto disease is characterized by low production of thyroid hormone from the thyroid gland. This is the hormone that controls the metabolism and when is low, you may have hair loss, decreased in the fat burning process , producing accumulation of extra weight. It also gives you dry skin and fatigue.It is important to check the TSH levels to make sure that you don't need thyroid replacement . Is that the case, your symptoms will improve as soon as the medication start working.
