How Can Headaches Caused By A Head Injury Be Treated?

I hit my head on Christmas day. I hit it right where my brainstem is located. I told my Dr. and he said it was a bad place to hit your head. In two days I had flu-like symptoms for two weeks, but no vomiting. I had fever, sweats and chills. Now I m having chronic headaches, though not like the migraines I had as an adolescent. Usually I can rub my temples and control a headache, and my temples hurt when I rub them, and the sides of the top of my head are usually sore. Now when I rub my temples or the top of my head, I have no pain , but I have a sensation of slight numbness. My head hurts at night, and I have slight pain at the base of my skull. Also sometimes when I just get up from bed and start reading, my eyes seem to jump up and down as I m reading.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Consult a neurosurgeon and plan for an MRI scan to look for any trauma-related injuries like contusion or concussion.

As of now analgesics like tramadol or aceclofenac can be taken.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
