How Can Hearing Loss While Suffering From Sinusitis Be Treated?

I ve had a sinus infection that ended up infecting my outer ear. Recently went up in the mountains and my ear felt like it popped but never was the same afterwards. I ve finished Amoxicillin 500 MG and Azithromycin 250 mg. but my ear is still not healing. I can t hear out of my infected ear. There is no pus or drainage. What can I expect?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

You seem to have a Eustachian tubal block (it's a tube joining nose/throat to internal ear and helps in air pressure acting on the eardrum.)

You need specific treatment after judging the extent of infection and inflammation to the tube along with treatment for sinus.

Please consult an ENT expert. By the time you can start with the anti-inflammatory drug over the counter along with Nasivion drops.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
