How Can Hepatitis B Be Treated?

My wife was diagnosised with chronic Hepa. B five years ago, but after many months of being under the care of an Infectious Disease doctor, and taking Entacavir .5 mg the virus seems to have disappeared a few months ago. But she is taking a physical for a clerical job tomorrow, should this effect her to be employed, because the blood work was marked on the paper she signed to check for Hep. B. Note the job is in a hospital admissions position. Your opinion??

Hello,

The problem with a Hepatitis B infection is that patients end up being carriers. And the other problem is that spread is easy.

It can spread through cuts and exposure to mucosa and things like that. It is definitely something that the hospital will consider, but if it is an admissions position, it should not be a problem.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Pranav Balakrishnan
