Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
hello, I am a female. I tested negative in early June for herpes. Not sure, but I think, once after test, in late June, i had sex with condom as always with my then boyfriend. we broke up. in early Oct, I was intimate with new boyfriend. By Nov 5 I had tiny bumps which I went to doc & had a culture done. It was positive. Question, are cultures just as accurate as a blood test? and is it possible I got it from June & no visible signs until Nov 5? Current boyfriend says his results from 3days ago were negative.
Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic. I can understand your concern. Yes, cultures are more accurate then blood reports. So if culture is positive for herpes then you are having herpes infection for sure. Possibility of herpes infection from first partner is more likely because of window period. Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
