How Can High Fever In An Infant Be Treated?

My 16 month old baby developed fever 4 days after he was given MMR injection. He was prescribed calpol 120mg/5 ml suspension. The dosage is 5 ml four times a day. He develops high fever 4 hours after the medicine is given. So i had to give him 6 doses of 5ml each in 24 hrs. Is it an overdose.? What is the solution? The fever is not settled yet.

Hello

Don't worry. Fever after MMR vaccination is normal. Continue with syrup. Calpol as advised as per his weight. Never skip vaccination in future also and give as per the schedule after pediatrician consultation.
