How Can High Liver Enzymes Be Treated?

I am 25 years old, I had a blood test for a life insurance policy. My liver enzymes were high, 123. I don't drink alcohol in excess and I work out regularly (6' 189 lbs). Is this serious and is it something I'll have to deal with for the rest of my life or can it usually be cured?

Hi and welcome to Healthcaremagic. I understand your concerns.
You did not specify which exactly value is increased but if you are talking about ST or ALT levels then this is significantly high value and it may indicate liver damage. In most cases this is caused by viral hepatitis or fatty liver. If alcoholism is excluded then you need to do liver ultrasound and check for viral markers. It will show us possible disorders. Then it can be treated on the right way. Also, you need to avoid liver toxic medications such as paracetamol, alcohol and have low protein diet. YOu can also take Silimarin supplement which will protect your liver from the further damage.
