How Can Hoarseness Be Treated?

Because of a possibility of silent reflux causing a hoarse voice, I have been taking a 40mg Omeprazole in the morning and in the evening. I m concerned that it may inhibit calcium absorption, I m 71 years old (but feel and act like 40, ha ha) Should I ask my Dr about changing this med or not worry about it. I have heard that ranitidine has less side effects. True or untrue???
