Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My son, many years ago, at age 29 had a heart attack and fortunately now is doing well. There were holes that had to be repaired. Could you tell me how that is done. I do understand that all could not be repaired and does this cause problems as he get older. He s also a very unpredictable diabetic.
Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic. I can understand your concern. Yes, he should definitely treat holes as with progressive age, possibility of heart diseases is more. So better to treat at young age. There are 2 methods. 1. Open surgical correction 2. Ballon valvuloplasty. So consult cardiologist and discuss which one suits your son. Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wishing good health to your son. Thanks.
