Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
How Can Hyperhidrosis Along With Dehydration Be Treated?
Hyperhidrosis -- dehydration -- elevated BP & seizure (unable /no strength to move any muscle for 5 min, though fully conscious) is this a possible sequence? The person had no history of seizure earlier. She was feeling very hot, complaining about being extremely tired and sweating a lot before the event, which happened 4 days ago. Had a heavy head for couple of days after that, now completely normal. The only medicine she currently takes daily is Eltroxin (Levothyroxine) 75mg daily. Is this most possibly one-off event, being careful about not getting dehydrated and taking ample rest would do? BTW, visiting a doctor day after tomorrow regarding this.
Based on the history you have shared, it needs urgent serum electrolytes levels, arterial blood gases, and endocrine workup with fresh thyroid hormone levels as well as cortisol and sugar levels is recommended. Intravenous fluids and hydration, any possibility of imbalance of acid-base should also be ruled out.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
