How Can Hyperpigmentation On The Skin Be Treated?

Hello, I cut my arm lightly by scraping against a nail which was in wood around a month and a half ago. It hardly bled but was a big scab. After 2 weeks the scab came off leaving a large white mark. I have been putting bio oil on it since it happened but doesn t seem to be fading and looks worse as I have olive skin. Will it return to natural pigment? Also, if I go on holiday will this area remain white or tan with rest of skin? Thanks
