Hello,

Kindly mention which side effects you have from starting antihypertensive medication.

The drugs in low dose usually doesn't lead much side effects like amlodipine or losartan.

If side effects occur from medicine than dose can be changed or medicine can be changed.

If diet and exercise can't control blood pressure than medication needs to be taken.

In hypertension, it's better to rule out secondary causes of hypertension also before considering it as essential hypertension.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Parth Goswami, General & Family Physician
