How Can Hypertension Be Treated?

my bp is 170/100 usually 130/80 on lisinopril 2x/day. have had a heart attack, have heart failure, a-fib but an ablation in november. readings have been high lately. lisinopril was doubled to the 2/day last month and pressure was very good at first. cut carvedilol to 2 per day and stopped cartia xt after ablation.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Thanks for writing to HealthCareMagic, I am Dr Muhammd Ahmad, I have closely read your question and I understand your concerns, I will hereby guide you regarding your health related problem.

A single reading of high blood pressure is not significant but if blood pressure continuously stays above 150 then you need to look into the matter , I would suggest you not to panic, just keep using the medication as your doctor suggested.

Keep taking Blood pressure and make a chart of it,if it stays above 150 quite often then contact your doctor immediately, if it is below 150 most of the times then there is nothing to worry. Keep salt low in your diet.

I hope this answered your question, if you have more feel free to ask, otherwise close the discussion and rate it.

Regards.

Dr.Muhammad Ahmad.
