How Can Hypertension Be Treated?

I am dealing with high blood pressure . I am a vegetarian and excercise every day was admitted to hospital with 225/119 last week and following up with doctor tomorrow I want to know what test I should be asking her to do had a ekg done with blood work and was told everything looked fine but my blood pressure has been ranging from 183-159over 72-63 I am currently on blood pressure med 5 mg lisinopril have heard its genetic and really trying to avoid going on higher med .. What are my options and what other test I m I suppose to have??

You may want to consider adding a diuretic to the lisinopril. This is a medication that gets rid of excess fluid and salts.

In many persons the high blood pressure is due to the excess fluids/salts that are present.
An example of a diuretic is hydrochlorothiazide .

In addition you can try the D.A.S.H diet which is a diet to help reduce blood pressure.
