How Can Hypothyroidism Be Treated While On Valsartan?

Good Morning: My name is Barbara,
I have Hypothyroidism, I'm 63 yrs old, active, exercise at least 3-4 times a week. I'm concerned because I do have hypertension taking valsartan 160 ml per day. What medications are recommended for the thyroid to help with this issue?

Hello and welcome to Ask A Doctor service. I reviewed your query and here is my answer.
Since when you are hypo thyroid? And what are you using for that? How aboit your last thyroid function tests value? If you are hypothyroid, then you need to takr levothyroxine for that. As you are hypertensive so you will need that in low dose or your anti hyper tensive medications dosage will be increased. Consult your endocrinologist for that.
