Hi,I am Dr. Alexander H. Sheppe (Psychiatrist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi - I won't be able to pay, because Zoloft has destroyed my life. I am manic-depressive and some pdoc thought it would be ok to put me on a psychotropic-amphetamine product. I cannot get off of the drug. I am forced back on it to quell the suicidal ideations. When I'm on it, I feel like shit - anhedonia - and when I'm off of it, I'm suicidal. I'm so glad I went to Wellesley; they ruined my life. I will never be able to get off of Zoloft nor feel good ever again - great drug.
Hello and welcome to Healthcare Magic. Thanks for your query.
I understand that you have been going through a very difficult time. You have mentioned that you were started on "psychotropic-amphetamine" product and you've mentioned about Zoloft as well. So, I'm not sure whether you are on any other medication other than Zoloft. Anyway, none of the medication that you have mentioned are the recommended treatment for Bipolar disorder ("manic-depressive illness). Bpolar disorder needs to be treated with a mood stabilizer.
Since you are having ongoing distressing synmptoms and also say that you have become hooked on to Zoloft, I would advise you to see a psychiatrist for a detailed evaluation and further appropriate treatment. Once you have been started on an appropriate medication, then Zoloft can be gradually tapered down and stopped.
Wish you all the best.
