How Can I Regain My Smelling Senses?

HI I AM KAVITA I HAD AN ACCIDENT O 28 DEC 2011 & COLLAPSED ON THE ROAD. I WAS TAKEN TO HOSPITAL & A HEAD INJURY WAS DIAGNOSED AFTER CT SCAN A MINOR FRACTURE IN BRAIN AND I LOST MY SMELLING SENSES NOW I AM ADVISED FOR VALPROL CR 300 MG & CENSPRAM 5 MG FOR 3 YRS COULD I EVER RECOVER MY SMELLING SENSES OR NOT

Hi Kavita,
I am sorry to hear about the accident. Based on your history, It seems you had injury over the skull base ( May be At the point of entry of smell carrying nerves from the nose) .I have seen a few patients like this,and I advise you to see an ENT surgeon. He will evaluate you for the probable causes of loss of smell. some causes are easily corrected, and some can't.,But sometimes after a few years,you may gain smell sensation. I am not promising you,but be optimistic.. I understand your agony... Take a consultation and do get back with reports.
