How Can Indentation On The Right Quadriceps Be Treated?

direct bow to the right quadriceps which resulted in the indentation 1 cm wide and 4 cm long. Initial pain and swelling subsided in a few days and left with palpable indentation. Pain on deep palpation over the proximal site of the lesions. Is it permanent and if not how can I treat it
