How Can Indigestion And Abdominal Pain While On Losartan Be Managed?

I am taking Lasartan because of a heart attack. I was put on this because Lecinapril was giving me a problem. Now Lasartan is giving really bad ingestion at night. Extreme pain. I was wondering if I should take it at a different time, maybe in the morning.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Yes u are very right. Gastrointestinal side effects are common with Losartan. This can be helped by taking the drug after meal and by slowly increasing the dose. If it's causing the problem in night you can take the drug in the morning. We just give it in the night so that it may cause slight dizziness. That's not very common. Otherwise it can be taken at anytime. But let your doctor know this. If problem still persists the drug can be changed.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
