Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am starting to have an ingrown toe nail. I know this because I had one on my other foot and it got treated and fixed. This time I ve caught it early on my right foot and was wondering how to treat it before I have to go through the pain I did last time. Little bit of pus comes out of my toe and I can see it is ripped inside on the right side of the skin. How do I treat this myself before I go to the doctors to get the right anti biotics?
Hi and welcome to HCM. Thanks for the query. In most cases it can be treated conservatively by good hygiene and soaking in salty warm water. Second it may be treated with antibiotics and antibiotic cream and thirds it can be managed surgically in severe cases when there is no another option. So you should start form the beginning and see what brings you best improvement,
Wish you good health. Regards
