Hello,

Based on the history, you seem to have developed recurrent pilonidal sinus that is associated with foul smelling discharge.

Late recurrence is usually due to secondary infection caused by residual hair or debris that was not removed at operation, inadequate wound care or a perianal fistula.

I advise you to consult a surgeon for further evaluation and to undergo certain tests such as fistulography and MRI to confirm the diagnosis of anal fistula so that it can be surgically excise laying open the sinus tract for primary healing.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali
