How Can Infection Be Prevented After Gall Bladder Surgery?

I had gall bladder surgery yesterday. The i.v. antibiotic was something called inverse(sp) because I have a long list of allergies including pennicillon.I was wondering how strong this antibiotic is and if It will keep me from getting infection. I am a rheumatoid arthritis patient on Plaquenil.
