Generally, after the egg has been ruptured and released from a mature follicle, it is viable for about 72 hours. Fertilization occurs within 12-24 hours after ovulation.
Post fertilization the egg travels through the Fallopian tubes into the
uterine cavity, which may take about 6-7-days. It could take another 2-3 days for the future embryo moving freely in the uterine cavity to preparation for
implantation.
Hence, it is essential to have intercourse 2 days prior and two days after the ovulation has probably taken place to increase the chances of conceiving.
Beyond this time, even if you have intercourse, it may not be productive as the time for survival of egg would have been passed.
Kindly follow the instructions as advised by your doctor and take the medications as prescribed properly.
