How Can Infertility While Suffering From PCOS Be Treated?
Ok so u have always had irregular periods but I have easily got pregnant with 2 wonderful children in my past but now I m 31 and my husband and I had been trying to get pregnant and I d have these off the wall symptoms and miss my period and not be pregnant. .. so I was diagnosed with pcos they put me on birth control, metformin, spironolactone. This last time I went to the doctor they said my hormone were fine other than my testosterone is to low my vitamin d and iron are deficient. So now they want me on testosterone cream. Everything iv read says metformin lowers it so would I be defeating the purpose by taking both? &if I have pcos wouldn t it already be to high? Now what about getting pregnant can all that hurt my baby if I were to be ever?what would raise my chances? What s your opinion
Hi, I think testosterone should not be taken if you have pco problem. In pco patients, the main problem is absence of ovulation. That's why periods are irregular. You can take some medicines like clomiphene for inducing ovulation. Also get a thyroid profile and prolactin level done. You can continue metformin. Spironolactone is not needed. You can track your ovulation by repeated ultrasound and when follicle is more than 17 to 18 mm, take injection for rupture of follicles. Be in contact with your husband for 2 to 3 days after the injection. Take progesterone for next 2 weeks after rupture is confirmed on ultrasound. Do a urine pregnancy test after that. You can try like that for 3 to 6 cycles. Talk to your doctor regarding this. Hope it helps.
