How Can Inflamed Flaccid Skin In The Mouth Be Treated?

Hi, I have what I can only describe as flaccid excess skin on the inside mouth near both sides of the opening of my mouth. It looks like pinched skin, but it feels very firm, like a lump. I ve had it forever, but only now, my right side feels inflammed after accidently biting it a few times, and its very large and prone to accidental biting when i close my teeth. Any help? Thanks.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms seem to be related to a cyst in the oral mucous. It is usually benign and no treatment is required. Accidental biting can cause inflammation of the cyst. In this case I would suggest a very good oral hygiene and rinse it with hydrogen peroxide to prevent an infection.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
