How Can Inflammation And Itching Caused By Yellow Jacket Bee Sting Be Treated?

Two days ago a yellow jacket bee stung me on my left wrist on top of the vein where your pulse is taken, initially it hurt like the dickens and then I had a welt the size of a pencil eraser appear, I have been having a lot of itchiness and now how a sizeable patch of inflammation and minor swelling from the sting area. I m not allergic to bees and recently have been stung about 4-5 additional times as the bees have been almost a plaque in our area. Should I wait this out or should I see my physician??

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello. it is better you consult your physician who may rule out if you have allergic content in the blood by blood test looking for your total count and differential count, and to particularly rule out eosinophilia. He may give u a course of anti histamine can tablets for few days and pain killers if there is pain if there is eosinophilia in blood you may be given Tab. DEC for a few weeks. Kindly consult your physician. All the best
