Hi, so recently I wore a pair of damp boxers and it was really itchy so i itched (dumb mistake) and now I have dry skin on my penis and the tip is really dry, I don’t have pain or burning when peeing and I don’t have discharge either so I’m wondering what’s going on
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
As per your query, you have symptoms of itching in the groin area which seems to be due to fungal/bacterial infection of hair follicles and due to improper hygiene of that area.
Need not to worry. I would suggest you to wash area with water and dry it and apply anti-fungal ointment such as Cotrimazole two times a day for 2 weeks.
Wear loose trousers to avoid heat rash. Take Cetrizine daily to avoid further exagerration. If condition doesn't get better in a month then consult dermatologist for proper diagnosis and treatment. Doctor may prescribe topical antibacterial ointment as the cause may be bacterial.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
