Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
my husband had been walking in the mountain for military operation he called me today and told me his scrotum has been scratch by his boxer upon walking and not taking a bath for three consecutive days.. its been irritated how can be treated. that medicine should i gave and cream should be given. pls answer me as soon as possible thank you..
Thanks for contacting with the health concern and looking into the case history it is probably 'jock itch'/scrotal dermatitis
1. as there is history of not taking bath for 3 consecutive days, thus probably bacterial overgrowth, irritation, moisture, fungus has caused the same
2. jock itch is easily curable with medicine(s) and by maintaining proper hygiene: . ask him to use loose clothing [cotton underwear] . a good absorbing powder will be an ideal choice . mild potency topical steroid [betnovate-N] with a mild antihistamine [avil/benadryl] will help ease his symptoms.
3. If symptoms persists ask him to visit [if possible] a good dermatologist or primary care physician.
