How Can Itching In The Throat And Dry Cough Be Treated?

Hi there! I ve recently contracted a bit of an itchy throat and some orangish hues on the back of my throat. It appears my tonsils are only slightly red, but they re not swollen; very close to normal. My itchy throat is accompanied by a dry cough. I put a camera a little further into my mouth to examine further down my throat and I found tiny white-flesh colored bumps. Nothing that looks like strep. It doesn t hurt to swallow nor is there any discomfort in swallowing. I have no fever, merely a runny nose and I ve also been waking up with a bit of a sore throat

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms seem to be related to an upper respiratory tract infection.

I recommend you to use anti-inflammatory medication such as acetaminophen.

I also recommend using throat spray.

I suggest you drink liquids and rest.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi,
