How Can Itching In The Throat And Dry Cough Be Treated?
My doctor changed me to valsartan 320 and I have done nothing but coughed with itchy throat. He changed me to a new one that starts with an A, but how long does it take before the itchy dry cough to go away? Unless of course that wasn't the problem.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of itching in the throat and dry cough which seems to be due to chest infection/upper respiratory tract infection. In you case the symptoms seems to be due to dryness caused by antibiotics or other medications.
Need not to worry. I would suggest you to do warm saline gargles. You should take cough expectorants. You should take antibiotic Levofloxacin in combination with antiallergic medication. Avoid oily and sharp food.
Visit ENT specialist once and get it examined if condition persist . You should get chest X-ray done , throat swab test and start treatment after proper diagnosis have been made. Doctor may also refer you to gstroeneterologist.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
