How Can Itching On The Back Be Treated?

My back itches. I used to live in Palm Beach County Florida. I used to shop at a Walmart Neighborhood Market s pharmacy section. The Walmart house brand Equate used to make a small bottle of anti-itch pills, I bought them regularly, and they worked excellently. Now I live in Ocala Florida, but the Walmart Neighborhood Market s pharmacy does not carry those pills. I have tried going on-line but nobody s web site offers anti-itch pills. I am lost as to what I can do.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Perhaps you have dryness on the skin of your back. I suggest you to take an oral antihistamine, e.g., Cetirizine tablet once every evening for symptomatic relief from itching. Cetrizine is available over the counter. In addition, you can apply a bland moisturizer, e.g., Aquaphor, regularly, 2-3 times a day.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Kakkar S.
