How Can Itchy Blisters Around The Vagina Be Treated?

Hey! Having a bit of a panic attack at the moment. So I’ve been having trouble for a week now. I’ve had a very healthy sex life with my bf who I’ve known for years and he’s the only partner I have. He and I had a little to wild of a romp in the sheets and I saw I was really swollen and red in my vaginal entrance and especially around my forchette. It also hurt so badly to pee. So I used Vaseline and applied vitamin E gel over the area. Seeing as it felt like I might have been suffering from cuts. Theeen the massive itching starts and I start applying undiluted tea tree oil which helped quiet down the itching. I got the bright idea to apply antibiotic ointment on the cuts I can NOW see and it burned like hell. Next day I have blisters. Itchy blisters. Out of desperation to pee without wincing and to escape the itch I bought Monistat 7 which spared my sanity over the weekend till I can go to see my doc. Now I’m not sure if the blisters are from herpes or from what I did.

Treatment for genital sores

The exact form of treatment depends on the causes of genital sores. Topical and oral medications are used to treat the sores and relieve pain. Your doctor may prescribe:

antibiotics
antiviral medications
corticosteroids
pain relievers
hydrocortisone or other anti-itch drugs
Other genital sores don’t require treatment, but you may have them removed if they’re bothersome. An example of a sore that doesn’t require treatment is a noncancerous cyst.

How can I prevent female genital sores?

Practicing safe sex by using condoms with each sexual partner can help stop the spread of STIs that may cause genital sores. Women who have been diagnosed with an STI should tell their sexual partners, who will also need testing and treatment to avoid reinfection and spreading the disease to another partner. Additionally, people who have been diagnosed with an STI should avoid all sexual contact until after they complete treatment.

Genital sores due to skin conditions or allergic reactions may be more difficult to prevent. Avoid known irritants, such as abrasive soaps or strong fragrances. Incidence of cysts and ingrown hairs can be reduced with careful washing. Avoid shaving any red, swollen, or infected areas.
