How Can Itchy Rashes All Over The Body Be Treated?

I have had a traveling rash for about 6 weeks. Blood work and biopsies were fine. It itches very badly. My doctor said at first that it was not scabies, but since she doesn t know what it is , she suggested treating it as Scabies. I am hesitant to use something that I do not believe I need. The rash all over my body does not look like scabies nor present itself like scabies. Steroids and antihistamines have not helped at least. I am losing my with all the itching.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

You may be having prurigo simplex. There may be some cause like insects, dust or internal factors. Consult the dermatologist for the perfect diagnosis and proper treatment. Along with antihistaminics you may take steroids in tapering dose. Apply mild steroid cream. And keep away yourself from suspected stimulants.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
